ABOUT ME & CONTACT

I am a San Francisco Bay Area native who currently resides in Marin County. I am constantly exposed to inspiring natural spaces as well as unique urban, rural, and abandoned environments. Although I started photography relatively recently, I have spent most of my life involved in some form of artistic endeavor, including fine art, graphic design, writing, music, and dance. In each of these fields, I found myself drawn to the idea of expressing emotion and evoking the senses in a way that meaningfully connects with my audience.
Similarly, I take photos to convey an emotional and sensory response that is inspired by my fascination with light, pattern, movement, and color. I try to express how I see and feel the world around me in the hope of encouraging a similar response in my viewers.
On the technical side, I received my first DSLR—a hand-me-down Nikon D7000—in the summer of 2013. I have continued with Nikon cameras, and currently shoot with a D7200, a D810, and a D850 using a variety of Nikkor and Sigma lenses. In addition, I use an Olympus TG camera for underwater shots (taken while snorkeling) and aerial shots (taken from the window seat of commercial flights in the US and Canada). For processing, I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, along with Exposure X software, the DXO Nik collection, and Topaz Labs software. The majority of my shots—except for the star trail images and some of the astrophotography and lightning images—are single-frame exposures.
